The son of a Spanish nobleman and a freed woman from Panama, Saint Martin de Porres experienced prejudice and racism all throughout his life.

The way he lived, with charity and respect for all people, is an inspirational example of how we should also live. He is the patron saint of social justice efforts and those seeking racial harmony.

We pray for his intercession that we may also work to end racism and prejudice in our world.

Eucharist through the Eyes of the Child featuring National Speaker, Ann Garrido as our keynote speaker.

Ann Garrido, is the author of 10 books including her most recent, Let's Talk About Truth (Ave Maria Press), where, despite living in today's modern society where many believe that we are in a post-truth era, she makes the case that truth is such a central theme in Christianity that it is the duty of preachers and teachers to talk about it, to know the Catholic tradition’s wisdom on it, and to share it in a way that can be understood and remembered. 

Ann has spoken at over 200 diocesan, educational, health care, ministry, and business gatherings in all 50 states and in 20 countries. We are super excited to have her with us via Zoom at our annual Parish-Wide Advent Retreat!

We meet together digitally and break into small groups based on which Mass times we usually attend. Expect to go through this week's readings and have a great group discussion! Each group is moderated by a volunteer or staff member and we welcome all new-comers!

We have provided hundreds of meals during Thanksgiving and supported dozens of families and individuals with the Giving Tree.

There is great need again this year; perhaps even more as so many have lost employment throughout the duration of the pandemic. Our hope is to be able to support many of these families by providing a bit of Christ’s light and love to them.

Traditional Giving: Checks can be made to St. John the Baptist. Please include: Holiday Gift Drive in the memo line. They can be dropped off at the church or mailed to 25810 156th Ave SE, Covington, WA 98042.

Our online giving is set up through Faith Direct, but you can make a one-time gift without signing up for Faith Direct if you do not have an account.
